Another
post from The Dish With Dean. Started our day off Sunday with 2 great
friends. Plan was to do as we always do. Go into the city and wing it.
We started by driving into the city and sat in traffic. But more time to
spend with great friends. Got a great
parking spot on the street by Hogs and Heffers. Went to take a walk
along the High Line. We had never been there before and we walked along
the High Line from 12th street to 33rd street. I found the perception of
Manhattan from that height very different. After walking back toward
the car we had to decide on the most important thing. Do we stay in the
city for dinner or stray away. We chose to go into Astoria which by the
way if anyone has not been, the place is hopping. We went to a place
called Crave. A local Greek dive on 31st ave and 36 street. This is a
place for triple D to come and visit. The Food was fresh and delicious.
We had babaganoush and some fresh warm Pita to start and a small serving
of Hummus. Both were very good and paved the way for what was next to
come. I have not ordered a real Gyro is quite sometime but I didn't see
Chicken Gyro so I ordered a regular Gyro platter. At the table we had 2
orders of Greek Bowls and a Pork Donor Platter. All 4 dishes came out
looking great and the food was amazing. All sauces are homemade and the
yogurt sauce added a nice touch to everything. I could easily go back
here just so I can have the Greek bowl or any other bowl varieties they
offer. Check it out!
